Surely this is a reality, or truth check, for you in that after years of active church membership and attendance, you have never heard, or even considered, that the Bible establishes certain standards for those you can be active in a house of God.
"LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?" (Psalm 15:1)
The question is asked of God Himself, logical and part of the realitty check, since it is God's house although many humans, more human than other church members, often think and act in terms of it belongs to them! And the answer comes from God Himself.
"He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart." (Psalm 15:2)
Are you willing to claim that your lifestyle is open and upright, you might sort of say like intergrity; are you willing to claim that in church and outside the church your works are works of righteousness; and do you speak the truth in your heart. Yes, to all three; and you are entitled to be active in a church.
