Turning Away from the Truth Finalizes the Falling Away, Bible Reports for Believing, Bible Studies in Jeremiah_Prophesy
Yes, the true and faith "shepherds" of God come from the Ascended Christ!

Perhaps you never saw in the Prophesy of Jeremiah 23:4, the fulfillment of true and faithful "shepherds" as Paul recorded of the Ascended Christ in Ephesians 4:8-16.

1. The fullfillment of Ephesians 4:11.

"And He {Christ the Ascended King} Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, andsome pastors and teachers..." (Ephesians 4:11)

NOTE: Hopefully you noticed that "prophets" were right there in among the pastors, teachers, apostles, and evangelists of shepherds of God’s people.

2. The Prediction of Prophesy.

NOTE: You should begin to realize by now that not all prophesy is predictive; however some of the most comforting and edifying prophesy like this is predictive, and it is is exhortation also!

"I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,’ says the LORD." (Jeremiah 23:4)

3. The Realities of the New Kingdom under the New King Jesus.

Wow, how much of God’s eternal plans for His own new kind of people under the new King and with the new kingdom do we see introduced right here in Jeremiah 23; of course, without the complete seeing of all these implications of it until fullly esplanted in the New Testament. Yet, it was there all along: we just could not see it until Jesus came along on earth to explain it, and the Apostles as they wrote the pages of the Bible.

(1). It is an eternal kingdom that the new King Jesus set up, because "they shall fear no more" (23:4).

(2). It is a kingdom of full salvation because "nor shall they be lacking" (23:4).

(3). As explained by the rest of the Bible, especially New Testament {but do not forget the full spectrum of prophesy in Isaiah at least one hundred years before Jeremiah}, we know this new people of God to be Jews and Gentiles. If you doubt that at any time read the book of Romans.
